There are plenty of ways of getting bamboo. One is looting and selling EVERYTHING you find. I did this for a while. You can hit the feasts and sell it all. (or just the higher value items if you don't want to pick up like water and canned beans lol) Anyone you kill you can take their loot and sell it. If it's more than you can hold, you can run behind a tree, sell real quick and go back for more. These are some of the basic ways to make bamboo.

I wonder how do you do this....i only have 5k....I thought i was rich at 10k. Guess not

loot! I farmed feasts for like 2 weeks and made 500k. Another good way is to donate, which is where the other half of my bamboo is from.
